Abstract

Ikan Nilem (Osteochilus sp.) merupakan salah satu jenis ikan endemik di perairan Indonesia yang mempunyai potensi ekonomis tinggi. Terdapat tiga macam ikan nilem yang umum dibudidayakan di Kabupaten Banyumas, Purbalingga, dan Banjarnegara yaitu ikan nilem Seruni, Mangut, dan Gunung. Mengingat informasi mendasar mengenai morfoanatomi ketiga macam ikan itu belum banyak dipublikasikan maka telah dilakukan penelitian yang bertujuan untuk mengetahui karakter morfologi dan anatomi ketiga macam ikan nilem tersebut. Penelitian ini dilaksanakan dari bulan Oktober 2009 sampai Mei 2010 dengan metode survei. Sampel ikan berasal dari hasil budidaya di Kecamatan Kedungbanteng dan Kecamatan Baturaden Kabupaten Banyumas. Variabel yang diamati berupa karakter morfologi eksternal, sistem pencernaan, skeleton, dan sistem respirasi. Sharkminnow (Osteochilus sp). is one of endemic fresswater fish in Indonesian wich has high economic value. There were three kinds of Sharkminnow that commonly cultivated in Banyumas, Purbalingga and Banjarnegara Regencies namelly Seruni, Mangut and Gunung. Considering that basic information about morphoanatomy of the three kinds of fish had not unwidely published, it is important to a conduct research aimed to know morphology and anatomy characters of there three fish kinds. This research was conducted from October 2009 to May 2010 using survey method. Fish sample were obtained from cultivation ponds in Kedungbanteng Subdistrict and Baturraden Subdistrict Banyumas Regency. The observed variables including of characters of external morphology, digestion system, skeleton and respiration system. Data from morphoanatomy character observation was analyzed by F test and followed by LSD test. Research result showed that external morphology character and exoskeleton of Seruni, Mangut and Gunung was similar. The difference found in body color, total length, standard length, soft spine of dorsal fin, soft spine anal fin, scale number on linea lateralis, scale number under linea lateralis, and scale number on front of dorsal fin. Exoskeleton difference found at rib number and spinal segment number. There was topography similarity of digestion system and the respiration system. Respiration system comprised of mouth, esophagus, intestine, liver and cloaca. However there was ratio difference between intestine length and standard length, however the three still included in herbivore group. Result of this research expected can provide information about anatomical character of the three Sharkminnow fish types laso can be used as fundamental for cultivation especially in feed management based on it intestine length ratio. eksoskeleton ikan Nilem Seruni, Mangut, dan Gunung terdapat perbedaan yaitu pada warna tubuh, panjang total, panjang baku, jumlah jari-jari lemah sirip punggung, jari-jari lemah sirip dubur, jumlah sisik pada linea lateralis, jumlah sisik di bawah linea lateralis, dan jumlah sisik di muka sirip punggung. Perbedaan endoskeleton terletak pada jumlah tulang rusuk dan jumlah ruas tulang belakang. Terdapat persamaan topografi sistem pencernaan dan sistem respirasinya. Sistem pencernaa terdiri dari mulut, esophagus, usus, hati, dan kloaka. Namun terdapat perbedaan rasio antara panjang usus dengan panjang baku, akan tetapi ketiganya masih tergolong dalam kelompok herbivora. Hasil penelitian ini diharapkan dapat menambah informasi tentang karakter anatomi ketiga macam ikan Nilem tersebut serta dapat dijadikan sebagai landasan untuk budidaya, khususnya dalam pengelolaan pakan berdasarkan rasio panjang ususnya
