Abstract

Cabai merah (Capsicum annuum) merupakan jenis tanaman sayur yang menjadi salah satu bahan penting dalam kehidupan masyarakat Indonesia. Tanaman ini banyak ditanam di wilayah Kecamatan Sumbang, Kabupaten Banyumas sebagai mata pencaharian penduduk. Cabai merah dapat tumbuh di lingkungan tropis, dapat ditanam di sawah, maupun di tegalan. Terdapat tiga faktor utama yang mempengaruhi pertumbuhan cabai merah antara lain iklim, ketinggian tempat, dan kondisi tanah.
Budidaya penanaman cabai merah terdapat hambatan seperti serangan cendawan Fusarium yang bersifat patogen sehingga berdampak kelayuan pada tanaman. Terdapatjenis Fusariumyangdiketahuibersifat non-patogen.Fusarium non-patogen merupakan jamur yang mampu menginduksi ketahanan terhadap beberapa patogen tanaman. Tujuan penelitian ini adalahuntuk mengetahui jenis-jenis Fusarium yang terdapat di pertanian rakyat Desa Kebanggan, Kecamatan Sumbang, Kabupaten Banyumas tersebut dan mengetahui sifat patogenitas dari jenis-jenis fusarium yang diperoleh. Materi yang akan digunakan dalam penelitian ini adalah sampeltanah bagian perakaran tanaman cabai merah yang berupa tanah. Penelitian ini akanmenggunakan metode surveidengan tehnik pengambilan sampel secara simple random sampling(sampel acak sederhana). Parameter yang diamati adalahsifatFusarium sp tersebut apakahpatogen atau non-patogen.
Hasil penelitian ini  ditemukan 8 jenis fusarium sp yang telah diidentifikasi secara makroskopis dan mikroskopis. Isolat yang diperoleh yaitu Fusarium Isolat A, Fusarium Isolat B, Fusarium Isolat C, Fusarium Isolat D, Fusarium Isolat E, Fusarium Isolat F, Fusarium Isolat  G dan Fusarium Isolat H. Uji patogenisitas diketahui bahwaFusarium Isolat D dan  Fusarium Isolat E bersifat patogenik terhadap tanaman cabai merah, sedangkan yang lainnya bersifat non-patogenik

 

Red chili (Capsicum annuum) is a kind of vegetables which is also one of the most prominent seasoning among Indonesian. People in Sumbang Subdistrict, Banyumas Regency plant it as their bread and butter. It can grow in tropical areas. It also can be planted on field or on the dry part near rice field as a secondary crop. There are three major factors that influence the growth of red chili; they are climate, altitude, and soil condition.
The attack of pathogenic Fusarium is a common obstacle faced by the farmer in the red chili planting and itcauses the plants to wilt. However, it is discovered that there is also a non-pathogenic Fusarium which is a kind of fungus that can induce the resistance of some pathogenic plant. The purpose of this research is to find out the kinds and the pathogenic characteristic of Fusarium in the farms in Kebanggan, Sumbang sub district, Banyumas Regency. The material used in this research is the sample of soil on the part of the red chili’s roots. The research used survey method with sample collecting technique by simple random sampling. The parameter used is the characteristic of Fusarium sp whether it is pathogenic or non-pathogenic.
In the result of this research, it wasfound that there wereeight kinds of Fusarium sp identified macroscopically and microscopically. The isolation results wereisolated Fusarium A, isolated Fusarium B, isolated Fusarium C, isolated Fusarium D, isolated Fusarium E, isolated Fusarium F, isolated Fusarium G, isolated Fusarium H. The test of pathogenic characteristic showed that isolated Fusarium D and isolated Fusarium E waspathogenic towards red chili plant while the rest were non-pathogenic.
