Abstract

Wadaslintang Dam is waters created through the blockage of River Medono, River Lancar and River Tritis streams catchament areas accumulate domestic and agriculture wastes that can be as a source of nutrient for the dam besides the remainder of fish feed from fish cultivation of Keramba Floating Fish Cage. The excessive wastes result in the nutrient content makes the eutrophycation processs.This research aimed to find out the distribution of Cyanobacteria and water quality of Wadaslintang Dam, Kebumen. Research method  used was survey in which sampling was accomplished in 5 stations, namely: areas of inlet, close to farmer’s karamba, close to PT Aquafarm’s karamba, Spillway and outlet. The main parameters were species and individual quantity of Cyanobacteria collected from Wadaslintang Dam, whereas supporting parameters were water depth, light penetration, TSS, water temperature, pH, alkalinity, free CO2, dissolved oxygen, BOD5, nitrate and orthophosphate. Research result showed that the distribution pattern of Cyanobacteria in the whole stations was clustered distributed, except Anabaena racibarskii that was homogenously distributed.
