Abstract

Siluriformes termasuk spesies ikan yang hidup di perairan tawar. Hampir semua ikan ordo Siluriformes memiliki sungut di sekeliling mulutnya. Bentuk, jumlah, bagian-bagian dari columna vertebralis dari satu ikan dengan ikan lainnya dapat berbeda. Penelitian dilakukan untuk mengetahui karakter morfologi columna vertebralis ordo Siluriformes yang tertangkap di Sungai Serayu Kabupaten Banyumas. Metode yang digunakan yaitu survei dengan teknik pengambilan sampel Purposive Random Sampling. Materi penelitian adalah Mystus gulio, Mystus nigriceps, Hemibagrus nemurus dan Clarias gariepinus hasil koleksi Dian Bhagawati, dkk dari Sungai Serayu Kabupaten Banyumas. Cara kerja penelitian meliputi identifikasi ikan dan pengamatan morfologi columna vertebralis. Variabel yang diamati yaitu karakter morfologi columna vertebralis ikan, sedangkan parameternya meliputi bentuk, jumlah dan bagian-bagian columna vertebralis. Hasil dianalisis secara deskriptif berdasarkan persamaan dan perbedaan morfologi ikan dan columna vertebralisnya. Bentuk columna vertebralis yakni pada bentuk neural spine dan haemal spine mempunyai perbedaan baik antar spesies maupun antar individu dalam satu spesies. Jumlah columna vertebralis memiliki perbedaan yaitu masingmasing pada Mystus gulio 32 ruas, Mystus nigriceps 39 ruas, Hemibagrus nemurus 38 ruas, Clarias gariepinus 59 dan 61 ruas. Keempat spesies ikan anggota ordo Siluriformes yang ditemukan di Sungai Serayu Kabupaten Banyumas memiliki bagian-bagian columna vertebralis dengan struktur dasar sama.
 
Siluriformes belongs to the fish that live in freshwater, however some species  in the familia plotosidae and aridae can be found in estuaries and the sea. The Siluriformes ordo has misae around their mouth for almost the species. Columna vertebralis for some fish could have many variation such as forms, parts, and numbers. The study was conducted to determine the morphological characteristics of the Siluriformes ordo’s columna vertebralis that was caught in the River Serayu Banyumas regency. The study was conducted by purposive sampling technique of random sampling used survey method. There were four species of Siluriformes was observed. They were Mystus gulio, Mystus nigriceps, Hemibagrus nemurus and Clarias gariepinus, these species obtained from collection of Dian Bhagawati. The identification and the morphological observation of columna vertebralis was utilized. The observation variable was morphological characters of columna vertebralis of the fish, while the parameters were shape, number, and part of columna vertebralis. The results were analyzed descriptively based on the similarities and the differences of morphology and columna vertebralis amongst the fish. Columna vertebralis parts on four species was basically the same, there were a vertebral centrum, neural spine, neural arch, processus praec-neuralis, processus post-neural, haemal spine, processus prae-haemalis, processus post-haemalis, haemal arch, parapophyses, and urostyl on the caudal. The number of the columna vertebralis section of species was differ, it was respectively 32 M. gulio, 39 M. nigriceps, 38 H. nemurus, 59 and 61                  C. gariepinus. All of the species of Siluriformes ordo which were found in Serayu River in the Banyumas regency have the same basically structure of columna vertebralis.
