Abstract

 

Ectoparasite is parasitic organism living at skin, husk and other part which is related to the external body of host. The aim of this research was intensity ectoparasite which attack at cupang fish (Betta splendens) sold by traders in Purwokerto. Inspection ectopasite of  preparation  method was carried out in Laboratory Entomologi-Parasitologi, Faculty of Biologi Unsoed Purwokerto. The result showed that Dactylogurys sp., Gyrodactilus sp., Ichthyopthirius sp., Chilodonella sp., Trichodina sp., and  Lernea sp. were found attack at cupang fish. The common ectoparasite was Ichthyopthirius sp. Prevalence of ectoparasite in center hatchery was 92.5% and small shops was 20%. Intensity of ectoparasite at center hatchery was 22 and small shops was 5.75.
